I am a member of the ARBA, NMRRC, PaSRBA and the MMRSC. I am also the current web-mistress for the MMRSC, and please feel free to email me if you would like any information about the club, or for a membership application! MMRSC has undergone some HUGE changes, please visit the site for more information!
With a COD in place, the Silver Marten Mini Rex are starting to take off, the beginnings of a new variety! See the "Other Colors" link to your left to see a nice Black Silver Marten buck ( Sold to Al Esposito in NJ), and his Sable Marten litter mate. We currently have a lovely brood doe from Eric Stewart, a daughter of that doe and Tuxedo, and a SUPER nice little Black Silver Marten buck sired by Lava. One of Jeremy's Opal does also carries for the Martens, and we hope to use her more extensively in pursuit of both varieties. The Marten project will be on a VERY limited basis at this time as my time and effort will be double on the Chinchillas. Himalayans have all been transfered to Jeremy's herd, so if you are looking for Himi's, please feel free to view his site or email him. I will still be getting Himi from time to time as they are a natural by-product of my Sable herd, these are available first come-first serve, after Jeremy gets choice.
The site is under a heavy re-haul, with new pictures being taken daily. If there is anything that you want to see on the 'revamped' site, please feel free to post on the tag-board.
What I feel is the most important point in breeding better
rabbits is always type, then color, and coat quality. A rabbit with a
beautiful coat and excellent coloring will not do as well on the table as
one with an awesome body and only fair color/coat. Think of your Mini Rex (or any other breed) as a cake. Cakes should be moist and delicious, expertly baked, light and fluffy. The icing on your cake is the rabbit's fur, but the body is the cake itself. You *CAN* try to fix a bad cake that is lopsided, under baked, or too dry with a lot of great icing, but it is still a bad cake, and a bad rabbit with a great coat of fur is no better! Please click on the variety links to see images of my animals. I will be adding new pictures as soon as time allows. I wish to have the most recent information posted here, and try to keep my links updated. If you see something that needs to be attended, please feel free to email or IM me at any time.
